Simple Passive
Cümlede vurgu eylemde olduğu zaman pasif kullanırız.
Örneğin,
“to be” fiili (am/is/are) + Geçmiş zaman (cleaned, made, vs.)
İlk cümle aktif yapıda. Pasif yapıyı oluşturmak için kelimelerin yerini değiştiriyoruz.
Active: Sarah cleans the room. Sarah odayı temizliyor.
Passive: The room is cleaned by Sarah. Oda Sarah tarafından temizleniyor.
Eylemi kimin yaptığını bilmediğimiz zamanlarda da pasif kullanırız. Örneğin,
Butter is made from whole milk.
Tereyağ tam yağlı sütten yapılır. (yapan kişi bilinmiyor)
Active: Someone cleans the room every day. Biri odayı her gün temizliyor.
Passive: The room is cleaned every day. Oda her gün temizleniyor.
What is glass made from? Cam neyden yapılır?
Glass is made from sand. Cam kumdan yapılır.
Many different languages are spoken in South Africa. Güney Afrika’da bir çok farklı dil konuşulur.
Tigers are found in India. Kaplanlar Hindistan’da bulunur.
Paper is made from wood. Kağıt tahtadan yapılır.
