Expressing Opinion

To ask for one’s opinion we often ask the questions;

What's your idea?

What do you think?

How do you feel about that?

Do you have anything to say about this?

What would you say about this?

In order to answer these questions, we usually start the sentence with certain expressions;

I think he should go to the doctor. What do you think?

As I see it, it’s not an easy problem to solve.

As far as he’s concerned, it’s not important. How do you feel about that?

According to scientists, the world is getting hotter.

In my point of view, cigarettes should be banned.

In my experience, it doesn’t work like that.

Disagreeing with an opinion

I disagree with you. 

I think you're wrong.

I don't agree with you. 

I'm afraid I can't agree with you on that. 

I'm not sure I agree with you. 

A: Do you think the government should build a new bridge?

B: In my opinion, they don’t need to.

C: According to the media a lot of trees have been cut down, I don’t agree with that.

A: You are right but we need a bridge, there is a lot of traffic.

C: I think you're wrong; they should improve public transport.

B: That’s absolutely right. I couldn’t agree more.
